Hot Rod Magazine finally announce most of the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour schedule and venues!! And it goes across the Midwest from North to South. I've done it a few times and this schedule is hohum at best. I think I'll sleep on it for a few days before I decide whether or not to "long haul" it.

What are the HOT ROD Power Tour dates and cities for 2015?

June 6 – Alliant Energy Center, Madison, Wisconsin

June 7 – Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois

June 9 – Memphis International Raceway, Memphis, Tennessee

June 10 – Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Hoover / Birmingham, Alabama

June 11 - TBD

June 12 – Lamar Dixon Expo Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

June 13 – Lamar Dixon Expo Center – LONG HAULERS ONLY*

Hmm, my boss has a sweet Chevy C30 pickup, and both Champaign and Gateway aren't far from here, looks like I'm taking a couple days off work in June.

Friend of mine has done it. Last year he only did I think three of the days due to logistics. Said it was fun. Met a bunch of great people and had a good time. But, to him the driving became redundant. They avoid highways for a reason, but he noted doing it for multiple days cause the ride to loose its novelty. Had a great time, but in the end you are just in a huge convoy traveling hundreds of miles at an average pace. He's in his 60s, and might be biased, but I'm 20 and I think I'd get tired of it after the first few hours.

The morning drive is the worst part, I agree unless you travel with a group of crazy friends. like I do. At the right places, the real fun doesn't start till after dark. Cost me two sets of rear tires, if I remember correctly.

Not haul'n.... parking lot burnouts, drag racing, and all manner of hoonage.

Same here. I've done the convoy cruise to shows before with only a handful of guys before, and it becomes annoying fast. There's always the one guy who can't maintain a consistent speed, or one showoff drawing unwanted attention, or the guy constantly going over the white line kicking up rocks and sand on your front end.
